The Ouachita River is one of the countries untouched jewels. The River has lock and dams but has not been altered in other ways. It has very little commercial traffic, few cabins, and no houses along it’s banks. This River is truly an Arkansas natural, and has been described by National Geographic and others as one of the world’s most beautiful rivers.
The River sports small mouth & large mouth bass, bream, crappie, several varieties of catfish and buffalo, carp, gar, etc. Alligators are seen most of the time along with deer, squirrels, beaver and other wildlife, on its banks.
This River is not noted for trophy fish, yet some are caught annually. If you like nature and want the chance to catch some fish while others in your group are horseback riding, then a Ouachita River trip is for you.
Nature trips are a favorite of the Ranch Owner. He loves to showcase this unspoiled River. The trip consists of a pleasant ride in our party barge with a thermos of hot cowboy coffee, cold drinks and snacks. Cruising the River at a slow, leisurely speed allows one to observe the unspoiled nature that abounds and the beautiful forest scenery.
